i’m back (and i hope you’re still here). it was a great one week spent in the philippines – lovely weather (half the time at least) and great company (always). i didn’t appreciate the long bus rides as much though, especially when the aircon was freezing and the music blasting. anyway, i reckon this might be a good time (excuse?) to share a filipino band i really love, the adorably if not confusingly titled moscow olympics. in the title track of their album cut the world, you’ll forget the need for a chorus at all each time you feel its gentle caresses give way to the harasses of the swirling and ever rising guitars. it’s almost a sound you’re sure you’ve heard before, somewhere in a distant memory, or perhaps in a faraway dream close enough to your heart.
