#47 little boots – stuck on repeat

it was funny how seuty was complaining about repetitive books just when i was listening to little boots‘ “stuck on repeat” (yes, on repeat mode). the former singer of dead disco has been tearing up the underground airwaves lately with her white label releases, online mixtape downloads, and a new single released today on pure groove. titled “meddle”, it is the fruit of her studio work with hottest chip off the block today joe goddard, which means it must be ready for the floor. my favorite though is still “stuck on repeat”, a dazzling electro track that picks up the groove from the get-go and never loses momentum throughout its epic seven minutes. dance music is much more forgiving to repetition – in fact it thrives on it, but what makes this track special is the glorious blend of the strange and the familiar encased in its unbelievably simple dance-pop structure.
