now that was quite some world record-shattering race by jamaican usain bolt in the 100m finals at the beijing olympics today. he was pretty slow off the blocks, but like a lightning bolt he destroyed the entire field with time to afford a pose while everyone else was still straining forward for second place. just look at that photo-finish. i do love watching the olympics, but really, it’s a poorly masked excuse for dropping belle & sebastian’s “stars of track and field”, taken off their breakthrough if you’re feeling sinister album from 1996, the opening track which begins slowly enough only to quicken its stride towards the end with a final flourish.

I loved his jiggy dance he did at the end.
And also hearing some table tennis woman with her unmistakable singaporean accent talk about the win and tonight’s match: “It’s been so long we are waiting for a mad-der (medal) from our at-ter-lits (athletes)”.
Fantastic. Love it.
